More About Me

Travel

Being part of a multicultural family, it was important to my parents to expose my sister and me to other cultures. This helped foster a love for the world and the people that inhabit it. I’ve spent the past 10 years trying to visit as many new countries, make new friends, and take part in a variety of new experiences. Whether free diving off the coast of Oahu, scuba diving off the west coast of Australia, climbing the tallest peak in the Faroe Islands ,or learning how to cook pasta alla norma from an 85-year-old nonna in Sicily — it’s these adventures that have made me who I am.

Sports

Sports have always been a constant in my life — from playing soccer as a kid to joining adult leagues in West San Francisco, and always tuning in to watch my collegiate or professional teams. As a proud graduate of the University of Miami and Oregon, I still cheer them on in the ACC and Big Ten. Growing up in the Bay Area, I became a die-hard fan of the 49ers, Warriors, Giants, Sharks, and Quakes. Pivotal moments like the Giants’ World Series runs in 2010, 2012, and 2014, or watching ‘The Catch’ on repeat as a toddler, pushed me toward wanting a career in sports. Now, with women’s sports on the rise globally, Bay FC has become a passion of mine — and watching them make the playoffs in their first year has easily been a highlight of mine.

Cooking

Being raised in a Latin-Italian family, it goes without saying that cooking is at the heart of our culture. My love for it started with my mom — she was like a mad scientist in the kitchen, creating meals for us and inspiring me to learn. One of my favorite ways to make the most of my travels has been through food: trying local dishes, picking up recipes like pasta alla norma in Sicily, or bringing home a local cookbook. For me, cooking is also one of the best ways to share my experiences with friends and show my appreciation through what I make for them — whether it’s homemade pasta or a freshly baked key lime pie.

Cycling

One of my favorite non-ocean, non-soccer activities is riding my bike. Whether I’m out solo or with my ‘Biker Bros’ cycling group, it’s my go-to way to clear my head and shake off stress. From riding out of Russian Hill through Golden Gate Park, down Ocean Beach to the SF Zoo, or tackling Hawk Hill in Marin, cycling gives me the perfect escape from work — and a solid workout, or get together with friends.

Photography

One of the best ways I’ve found to capture moments with friends, family, and even time alone has always been through photography. I believe it’s important to hold onto the memories that make us happy and remind us how far we’ve come — and after countless classes and hundreds of thousands of photos, I’ve been able to do just that. As I move forward, I hope to keep sharpening this skill so I can continue capturing the people I love and all the ways they shape my life.

The Ocean

I’ve always felt at home in the water — whether it’s days at the beach or hours out in the ocean, that’s where I’m most comfortable. Over the past two years, I’ve pushed myself to get better at surfing along the Oregon coast and renewed my scuba certification, keeping two of my favorite passions alive. With my move back to the Bay Area or Southern California, I’m excited to keep chasing waves, exploring underwater, and growing my connection to the ocean.
